Hector and Teresa, along with their three children, arrived in Los Angeles from Argentina in 1985. They embarked on a journey of hard work, dedicating their days and nights to baking bread at home to provide for their family. An opportunity arose when a small storefront opened on East Whittier Boulevard, leading to the establishment of Sonora Bakery in 1986. Their youngest son, who used to assist after school, now oversees the preservation of its traditions.
Over the span of a decade, Sonora experienced growth and relocated to a neighboring building, expanding to offer more space and services to the local community. Presently, Sonora Bakery proudly brings you the diverse flavors of Central American baking, delivering the authentic taste of their homeland to your table.

Sonora Bakery is committed to commemorating special holidays such as Three Kings Day (Día De Los Reyes Mágos), Latin America Mother’s Day on May 10th and many other festive dates throughout the year by offering our beautiful and delicious cakes and creations to mark each occasion!
