Hector and Theresa arrived in Los Angeles with their 3 kids from Argentina in 1985. Slowly they started working from home day and night preparing breads to support their family. The opportunity came, a small store was open on East Whittier Boulevard. In 1986 Sonora Bakery was opening its doors for the public. Their older son used to come and help every day after school and now takes care of its traditions. In 10 years Sonora grew and moved to the next-door building offering more space and more services to the local area and its neighbors. Today, Sonora brings you the diversity of Central American Bakers to prepare to you the taste of their Country to your table. We love celebrating with our customers and supporting our community. Sonora Bakery works to celebrate the Latin America Mother’s day – MAY 10th with our beautiful and delicious cakes and creations!!!!.
We also support the women in our lives creating the breast cancer awareness when we sell pink bollios and other desserts. The proceeds from those sales go to the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.
